True greatness

Bible is full of paradoxes. In fact Jesus teachings lifts it to an another level altogether. He says blessed are the gentle for they shall inherit the earth.Sounds absurd isn't it, have you heard of any gentle person inheriting the earth. We are told that only the strong and mighty can do it. That is the way the world thinks but the kingdom principles are a different paradigm altogether.
Jesus says in the gospel of Mark 10:43, "But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant". What has greatness got to do with a servant. In fact that is the last thing in a mans heart when he is intending to become great. Have you seen a servant who is great? This is the ultimate paradox, servant hood = greatness. In order to understand this we need to unwrap the word greatness. What is your definition of greatness? Is it power? Is it position and authority? Is it prestige and pleasure? Is greatness being a celebrity and being a regular feature in page 3 columns? What is true greatness?
