Cure of Anxiety

Being anxious and worried is the most common problem that many Christians face in their daily life. Being worried about tomorrow, worried about your children, worried about finances, worried about your job, worried about your future, your health it can go on and on, an endless list of worries. The funny thing is that in most of these cases we don't have much control over it, we cannot change anything about tomorrow, we don't control it. That is exactly why Jesus asked this question, "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Have you ever stopped for a moment to ponder on this question. It is only then that we realize the futility of worrying. We are in fact taking off precious hours from our life by worrying. Being anxious adversely affects our life, our health, our outlook and also it affects the people around us. No one likes to be around a person who is chronically worried about different things in his life an eternal pessimist, a perennial complainer. The book of proverb says, constant nagging is like a leaking roof, it can be really annoying.

There is no point sitting and worrying about things that are beyond our control, the best thing that we can do is to hand over our worries to the person who holds our future, who controls everything. If our father in heaven knows when a small sparrow in the market dies, if He knows the number of hair that we have, if He has clothed the common Lilly of the field with more splendor and beauty than King Solomon in all his glory,if he feeds the birds of the air without any of them sowing or reaping or gathering then what prevents us His children, from casting all our anxiety at His feet. Yes, trusting in God is loosing our control over our life, but don't you think that it is better to give away the control to a person who knows better than us and thinks the best for us as His plans are never to harm us but to prosper us and give us a future and a hope. Cast all your cares upon Him and live a carefree life, God is promising us Peace that is beyond all our understanding which is found only in Jesus.
